Porto
Porto is Portugal’s second-largest city after Lisbon and is also one of the country’s oldest cities. Its city center is among the oldest in Europe and has a history dating back to Roman times. It is therefore no surprise that the city center has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996. In Porto, you’ll find many unique, impressive, and beautiful sights that are definitely worth a visit.
Braga
Anyone visiting Braga should definitely not miss the Santuário do Bom Jesus, the city’s symbol, with its monumental staircase complex. Surrounded by green space, it offers a stunning view of the city. There are two other churches nearby: the Santuário de Nossa Senhora do Sameiro, an important pilgrimage site in Portugal, and the Igreja de Santa Maria da Falperra. Outside the historic center, the Mosteiro de São Martinho de Tibães monastery and the Capela de S. Frutuoso de Montélios are also worth visiting for their beauty and historical significance.
Guimarães
The birthplace of Afonso Henriques, the first king of Portugal, is considered the cradle of Portugal. The historic center is closely linked to the origins and identity of Portugal. The area within the city walls was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in recognition of the originality and authenticity with which it was restored. Today, the city boasts a harmonious and well-preserved cultural heritage featuring elegant wrought-iron balconies, granite canopies, mansions, arches connecting narrow streets, cobblestones worn smooth by the passage of time, towers, and monasteries. At times, you might feel as if you’ve been transported back to the Middle Ages, when the nobility had magnificent residences built here, such as the Casa Mota Prego, the Palácio de Vila Flor, the Palácio do Toural, and so many others that give Guimarães its unique character.
Please drop us a message if you’d like to know whether the Cabin or a Bell tent with a swimming pool is available.
